After Simchas Torah

In an online shiur titled “The Wondrous Segulah of the Chida for the First 12 Days After Sukkot,” Rabbi Daniel Glatstein references Rabbi Chaim Palagi in “Moed Le’Kol Chai” (25:48) and the Chida in “Morah B’Etzba” (9:248). He explains that individuals should bolster their Yiras Shamayim and immerse themselves in learning Torah lishma during the 12 days after Sukkos. Furthermore, this practice is highlighted as a segula for obtaining heavenly assistance, ensuring success in all endeavors throughout the year, whether they pertain to Torah learning, saintly practices, or business.

I found both seforim online:

After the holiday and into the month of Cheshvan, one should strengthen themselves in their fear of Heaven and learning Torah lishma. As this period marks the beginning of the year, it should serve as a positive omen for the entire year ahead. Now, since it’s close to the Ten Days of Repentance, one must demonstrate and show that whatever actions were taken previously were not done lightly or dismissively, God forbid. If now, one begins to cast off their spiritual responsibilities and becomes lax in their devotion to God, it would not be favorable, Heaven forbid. Therefore, on the contrary, one should make it a good sign for the entire year, running like a Gibor in the pursuit of Torah and mitzvos, as if Hashem’s kind hand is upon him.
(Morah B’Etzba – 9:248 -The Chida)

In “Moed Le’Kol Chai,” Rabbi Chaim Palagi references the Chida and then also includes this quote from the Chemdas Yamim:

It was the custom of the early righteous ones to sanctify themselves on Yom Kippur and maintain holiness in thought, speech, and action from Simchat Torah until twelve days after the holiday, corresponding to the twelve months of the year. They would gather in their homes during these twelve days and return to their Torah studies, each according to his measure. It is a wondrous segula that the one who does this will receive constant Divine assistance throughout the year, from the beginning of the year to its end. Everything he does will succeed, whether in God’s Torah, in piety, or in business.
(Moed Le’Kol Chai – 25:48 – Rabbi Chaim Palagi quoting Chemdas Yamim)
