Rabbi Daniel Glatstein, in “The Mystery and the Majesty” (page 402), and Harav Elimelech Biderman, in “Around the Year with Reb Meilech” (page 113), both reference sources to demonstrate that Shemini Atzeres is a tremendous eis ratzon. Rabbi Glatstein notes, “There is no greater day for tefillah and bakashos, requests, than Shemini Atzeres.”
